Overview

EJ carried out a full site survey and design proposal for the replacement of existing GRPcovers deemed unsafe / not suitable for the day to operations of a wet well at Cobham sewage pumping station in Surrey.

Project Summary

Working with the clients project managers to get operational feedback, EJ designed a bespoke fabricated steel, ‘L’ shaped, hybrid upstand cover with multiple secondary hinged upstand covers for access.

EJ installers safely removed the existing GRP covers, steelwork and installed the new cover
into position. The new EJ cover system is fully removable giving the client full access to the
entire chamber as required or individual access to the pumps through the multiple secondary
hinged covers. It also offers improved manual handling with single man operation, greater
security to prevent unauthorised access and an all-round safer solution for the client.
